The architectural icon Kö-Bogen celebrated its 10th anniversary from September 21 to 23 and set a sign of solidarity and support. Under the motto "Kö-Bogen turns 10: Anniversary with heart for a good cause", visitors could look forward to a weekend full of variety and a major charity event with actress Jenny Jürgens for the Herzwerk initiative.
The non-profit project Herzwerk actively works against poverty in old age and supports seniors who are dependent on help due to their social situation and their advanced age. Jenny Jürgens, initiator of Herzwerk and ambassador of the DRK-Düsseldorf, supported the Art-Invest team on Saturday together with Herzwerk colleagues in distributing the charity anniversary boxes, which were filled with typical Kö-Bogen specialties as well as shopping and travel vouchers. This charity campaign was supported by various companies located in the Kö-Bogen, such as 12.18. Group, JOOP!, Windsor, Juwelier Rüschenbeck, Poccino, Miele, Otto Wilde and Manzoni Gelato. 500 anniversary boxes were handed out to visitors of the Kö-Bogen within six hours in front of the Breuninger main entrance in exchange for adequate donations. In total, a donation sum of around € 7,500.00 was collected over the weekend.
Lord Mayor Dr. Stephan Keller, who has been patron of the Herzwerk project since 2020, should also be pleased about the generous donation sum: He appeared at the big photo session on Friday to offer his congratulations in person. Long-time business partners of the Kö-Bogen also joined the crowd of well-wishers who gathered around the XXL birthday cake specially made for the occasion by Jacques Tilly.
