For more than 25 years, DKMS LIFE has made it its mission with the look good feel better patient programme to offer cancer patients help for self-help in dealing with their changed appearance during therapy. In free cosmetic seminars, participants receive tips on the topics of facial care, make-up and headgear. It is about much more than make-up:
The seminars offer a welcome change from the daily therapy routine, increase the patients' self-esteem and thus strengthen them in their fight against cancer. The re-entry into the clinics for onsite seminars has taken place, but the majority of cosmetic seminars have continued to take place online since the Corona pandemic. Around 180,000 cancer patients have been enabled to attend to date. As part of the charity campaign "#HERZENSSACHE - Together with DKMS LIFE we are making a difference in supporting cancer patients", customers at DOUGLAS donated from 17 to 30 October 2022. DOUGLAS has increased the total donation amount to 100,000 euros. "Through the outstanding work of DKMS Life, numerous affected women and girls are supported in regaining their self-esteem and quality of life. Especially in these personal and challenging moments, self-love is an important anchor to draw new strength in difficult times. That is why the partnership with DKMS Life is a special affair of the heart for us," said Nicole Nitschke, CEO DACH of DOUGLAS. "DOUGLAS has been by our side as a loyal partner since 2008. I would like to sincerely thank them for their support, which enables us to give patients confidence and hope," said Ruth Landler Neri, COO of DKMS LIFE. "DOUGLAS is an important partner for us with its broad product range and store presence. The cooperation with DOUGLAS offers the opportunity to anchor the DKMS LIFE offer in the awareness of affected women and girls and thus facilitate access. We are all the more pleased with this additional support for our "look good feel better" patient programme," Ruth Landler Neri continues.
